Remember those flowchart quizzes from the early 2000s?

Which Disney Channel star are you?
Are you more Hilary Duff or Miley Cyrus?
Team Edward or Team Jacob?

You’d start at the top, answer a question, follow the little YES or NO arrow, answer another question… and eventually uncover some deeply important information about yourself. 😂

I made THAT — but for your nervous system.

A Flowchart Quiz.. for your nervous system *

“Nervous system regulation” is everywhere right now. And while I think it’s one of the most important conversations we can be having, I also think it’s really misunderstood.

There’s this idea that we can spend six months doing all the healing — breathwork, somatic work, meditation, therapy, journaling — undo 30 years of chronic stress and then… graduate from nervous system work.

No.

Your nervous system is constantly taking in information and responding to the world around you. It’s the same system that pulls your hand away from a hot stove or gets you out of the way of an oncoming car — often before you’ve consciously processed what’s happening.

The goal isn’t to never enter a stress response again. It’s to recognize where you are and learn how to meet your body there.

So I made you a cheat sheet.

Have a project you need to finish but somehow you’re doing literally anything else?

Get into an argument and suddenly you’re drafting three novel-length texts defending yourself?

Immediately want to apologize and make everything okay after a difficult conversation?

Pull out the guide.

Follow the flowchart to explore whether you might be in Fight, Flight, Freeze or Fawn, then head to page two for a simple practice to try in the moment.

You might be Flight in one situation, Fawn in another and Freeze the next day.

This isn’t a personality test. It’s a resource for real life.
