All About Breathwork

I first found breathwork while taking a course on chronic illness. At the time, I was stuck in a cycle of anxious thoughts — constantly telling myself “I’m sick” and feeling my body respond by staying in that same pattern.

What I didn’t expect was how much breathwork would shift that. During sessions, I started visualizing my future self and calling in the life I actually wanted. And slowly, those visions started showing up in reality: I manifested my dream car, two cats, jobs that lit me up — I even manifested TLC.

Yes, there’s plenty of research about the physiological benefits of breathwork. But for me, this practice is deeply spiritual. Breathwork has helped me flush out the gunk — the noise, the fear, the heaviness — so I could reconnect to the core of who I am, who I want to be, and how I want to move through the world.

How to Experience Breathwork with Me

  • Group Workshops

Group breathwork has been tremendously impactful in my own healing. There’s something powerful about coming together in community — the shared energy amplifies the release, and it reminds us we’re not alone in what we’re moving through.

That’s why I love offering breathwork in group spaces. It’s a chance to reset, reconnect, and experience the kind of collective support that makes this practice so transformative.

  • Intuition Activation

A 4-week breathwork program designed to help you regulate your nervous system and reconnect with your intuition. Each week, we use breathwork practices to quiet the overthinking mind, strengthen your connection to your body’s signals, and create space for the guidance of your higher self to come through. Breathwork isn’t just the tool — it’s the doorway that facilitates the whole process.

Hear what others have to say!

  • I attended Cameryn’s Breathwork workshop in January, and it was nothing short of transformative. From the moment I walked in, I felt a welcoming and safe atmosphere, which is so important when exploring something as intimate and personal as breathwork. Cameryn was incredibly knowledgeable, guiding us through each phase of the workshop with clear instructions and a calm, soothing presence. This was my first time doing breathwork and I felt extremely comfortable. I highly recommend and can’t wait to do it again!! 😊

  • Cam is such a sweet and gentle soul. Her virtual breathwork session was just what I needed after a stressful week! I could feel my body settling in as she guided me and felt restful and relaxed when we were done. I’ll definitely be doing more sessions!

FAQs about Transformational Breathwork

  • Every session is unique, but here are some common experiences people report:

    Physical Experiences

    • Lightheadedness

    • Tingling sensations

    • Cramping in the hands or mouth (tetany)

    • Heaviness in the body

    • Increased heart rate or rapid breathing

    • Feeling hot or cold

    • Shaking, moving, or tremors

    Emotional Experiences

    • Processing old trauma

    • Catharsis (emotional release such as crying, laughing, or expressing anger)

    • Unconscious material resurfacing (unresolved issues, personal patterns, hidden aspects of yourself)

    • Transpersonal experiences (unity with the universe, past-life memories, or archetypal imagery)

    • Non-linear thinking (enhanced creativity and problem solving)

    • Intuitive insights (breaking free from mental limitations or default patterns)

    • A sense of timelessness (the mind shifting into a deep, meditative state)

  • The work doesn’t stop when the session ends — your body and nervous system may continue processing for hours or even days afterward. Aftercare is about supporting that integration:

    • Hydrate + Nourish: Drink plenty of water and eat grounding, nourishing meals to help your body regulate.

    • Rest: Give yourself permission to rest, nap, or go to bed early if you feel tired.

    • Journal or Reflect: Write down anything that came up — emotions, insights, or memories — while it’s still fresh.

    • Gentle Movement: Light stretching, walking, or yoga can help release lingering energy.

    • Emotional Space: Allow feelings to surface without judgment. Crying, laughing, or waves of emotion are part of the process.

    • Integration Time: Keep the rest of your day simple if possible — spaciousness helps the session “land.”

Everyone’s integration looks different. Some feel energized and clear right away, while others may feel tender or more inward. Listening to your body is the best guide.

  • Just like during breathwork, the after-effects can vary from person to person and from session to session. Some common experiences include:

    • Deep calm or relaxation – many people feel lighter, clearer, and more at ease in their body.

    • Emotional sensitivity – you might feel tender, raw, or more open as emotions continue to surface.

    • Physical sensations – tiredness, spaciousness, or a lingering buzz of energy are all normal.

    • Mental clarity + insight – fresh ideas, creative thinking, or new perspectives can arise.

    • Integration period – sometimes the full impact unfolds over hours or days, with subtle shifts in mood, awareness, or relationships.

Every experience is valid. The best thing you can do is notice what’s present for you and give yourself space to integrate.

  • While breathwork is safe for many people, it may not be suitable if you have:

    • Heart or cardiovascular issues – high blood pressure, heart disease, history of heart attack, stroke, or aneurysm.

    • Respiratory conditions – asthma, COPD, or other serious breathing difficulties.

    • Pregnancy – due to risks with blood pressure and hyperventilation.

    • Severe mental health conditions – such as schizophrenia, psychosis, bipolar disorder (not stabilized), or severe dissociation.

    • Recent surgery or injury – especially abdominal, chest, or bone conditions like osteoporosis.

    • Seizure disorders – including epilepsy.

    • Serious uncontrolled medical conditions – such as diabetes or thyroid disorders.

    • Eye conditions – glaucoma or retinal detachment.

    • Medication concerns – taking 2+ heavy medications that alter brain chemistry.

    • Substance addiction – altered states could be triggering for those with a history of drug or alcohol dependency.

If you’re unsure whether breathwork is safe for you, please check with your healthcare provider and feel free to email me at cameryn@tenderloveandcare.me with any questions.

Hi, I’m Cameryn — Yoga Teacher, Spinal Energetics & Breathwork facilitator, podcast host, and fellow human navigating the ups and downs of healing.

I created TLC to be the place I wish I had when I was struggling: a space to unwind your nervous system, reconnect with your body, and remember that you’re not broken — you’re just carrying a lot.

Whether we’re working together 1:1 or in a group, you’re tuning into the Somatic Sisters podcast, or you’re diving into my Intuition Activation program, my goal is the same: to help you feel safe enough to hear your own inner guidance… and act on it.
